Top 5 Futuristic Sneakers 2018

5 – Nike Hyperadapt 1.0 – Self Lacing Sneaker
From concept to reality. The idea started back when Tinker Hatfield designed a pair of sneakers for the 1989 Back to the Future 2 movie known as the Nike MAG. Fast forward
to 2016 and we got an actual self lacing Nike Mag in very limited numbers thru Raffle on nike SNKRS (Which I donated $100 to try and cop)
from that, Tiffany Beers and Tinker created Nike’s First self lacing sneaker to release, the Hyperadapt 1.0.
EARL stands for “Electric Adaptable Reaction Lacing”
They actually used the base of an Air Jordan XX9 model to fit the motor in since it had aggressive cutouts on the sole.

There is a manual on how to utilize this shoe https://www.nike.com/launch/t/hyperadapt-1-0

Does the shoe actually provide value? Maybe not yet. it is the innovation that interests me.
Tinker mentioned the concept of a basketball player being able to have his shoes auto unlace during timeout, on the bench, while shooting a freethrow, then ZIP… tighten back up right as they need to. That is what I picture for the future, that sounds pretty cool.

4 – Adidas Futurecraft 4D printed midsoles
Prices are around $300 for this new tech that we are seeing more of in 2018, a lot more, and on new models including a laceless basketball shoe, and an Iniki Runner.

The concept? It’s a 3D printed midsole from a company named CARBON, and uses Digital Light Synthesis which it crafts the midsole from a liquid.

It features engineered zones for various needs on running like propulsion, cushioning, stability, comfort, and has over 20k struts that form the midsole.

While the “Futurecraft 3D” was introduced, then silently went away, this time I think Adidas may be on to something.
The end goal is to be able to walk into a store, run on a treadmill, have it map your foot and then create a brand new personally customized running shoe for the consumer.

I think that would take things to the next level for sure, time will tell if this product will be embraced by consumers.

2 – Shift Sneakers
which has the concept of changing the color to match outfit of the entire shoe (https://www.digitaltrends.com/cool-tech/sneakers-of-the-future-change-color-design-mobile-app/

What it ended up being closest to… a shoe with a flexible LED screen.
You can change the background of the shoe with connectivity to your phones app.
$500 to pre-order a pair
Seems like a cool concept, but not likely something that will be properly developed or hit the mainstream markets.
